A new year stands before us like a blank page. It’s a chance to start fresh, learn from our mistakes, and have our best year yet! Sounds cliché right? I’ve always thought so, but thought I would give it a try and really think about what my new year’s resolutions would be.
Enjoy the Little Things: Let’s be honest, life is hectic. I own a business, I am mother, and a wife. My daughter has brought so much joy into my life. She gets excited about the littlest things. There is nothing like viewing the world through a child’s eyes. I want to work on living in the moment more and enjoying the little things.
Don’t Worry So Much: I am a worry-wort, sometimes…okay a lot. I get it from my dad. I am going to make a conscience effort to remember, “You can’t change the things you can’t control.” I am going to strive to not think about what could happen, but instead enjoy the now.
Get Rid of the Mommy Guilt: Every mother knows what I am talking about. I am putting the pressure on myself, no one else is. There will be plenty of nights where I miss bedtime, or don’t get enough time with her, but there are also times where I can make up for that and have that special day with her. It’s all about quality time. And when she gets older, hopefully she will be proud of the sacrifices I have made to ensure she has the best life she can. After all, we are role models to our daughters!
A new year is like a blank page…you can write anything in it. Here’s to your great 2018!
