Dreaming of a professional dance career? Get the EDGE at Kaleidoscope Dance.

This program offers specifically designed dance curriculum for the serious, driven dancer, aged 10 and above, and is designed to give them holistic training to produce a well-rounded future professional dancer.

All students must display a high level of technique and proficiency in all styles of dance, a strong work ethic and passion for the art of dance. Dancers must be invited to be a part of the program which includes participating in an interview with the Artistic Director.

The E.D.G.E. curriculum includes multiple dance styles, master classes and private coaching sessions. Along with dance classes, your dancer will receive health, nutrition, and injury prevention education courses designed to help them better understand their bodies.

Activities also include seminars and exploration of career opportunities from performing to teaching dance.

Career Preparation

The EDGE training program prepares the advanced dancer to take their dancing to the next level. Included in the program, for those interested, is a college prep component. This assists the parents and dancer in learning about dance as a major or minor in college, as well as scholarship information.

We will guide you through the steps beginning freshman year of high school and we will prepare your dancer to successfully audition and apply to the dance program of their choice. A choreographed piece and three hours of private audition instruction are included.

E.D.G.E. tuition fee includes the following:

Class placement is determined by the Artistic Director

Two Ballet classes per week

One Jazz class per week

Two elective classes per week (any additional classes are 1/2 price)

Two parent-teacher meetings each year with the Artistic Director to discuss dancers’ progress

Two private one-hour lessons with a Kaleidoscope instructor

Nutrition & injury prevention class with a professional physical therapist from Athletico

Master class with guest artists which includes a question/answer session to discuss a professional career in the arts

College Prep Counseling which includes information on college programs, college selection help, choreography and 3 hours of private instruction for audition solo

Highlights of the EDGE Program:

Dancers will receive instruction in various styles of dance, becoming well-rounded, versatile dancers

Achieve excellence in discipline, confidence, self-esteem and physical & mental training

Limited class sizes and personal attention from all Kaleidoscope instructors

Dancers may be asked to participate in special events and performances

Dancers will likely progress at a much faster rate than other students

End of the year outing to see a professional dance company in Chicago

Expectations of dancers and their families in the E.D.G.E Program:

Dancers must be age 10 or above

Must be invited to join the program

Excellent attendance

Appropriate attire in all dance classes and rehearsals

Punctuality – Arriving on time for classes and ready to dance

Positive attitude

Display maturity and respect for instructors and fellow dancers

Self-motivated
