  5. Welcome Back Kaleidoscope Families

What a summer it has been! The day after our year-end performance, the construction crew got to work and we were well on our way. I was knee deep in paint color samples, finishes, dance floors, barres, mirrors all while juggling being a small business owner, not to mention being a mother of a soon to be, opinionated two-year old daughter. But, secretly, I loved every moment of it because my dream was coming to fruition. After 12 weeks of sleepless nights, long days, and juggling being a wife, mother, business owner, and not to mention a construction manager, the day arrived…construction was done and the dream became reality. It was well worth the wait and countless hours. I am so pleased to announce we are open for business and classes have begun. I am so thrilled to bring a state-of-the art dance facility to the communities of Skokie, Evanston, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Wilmette, Winnetka, and the north shore of Chicago.

Looking back to 14 years ago, and a lot less gray hair, I am humbled and amazed by the growth of the studio. I remember the first time I looked at the building back in 2004. There was 1,800 square feet available. Just enough room for 2 studios, a little waiting room, office and bathrooms. I saw the potential and thought to myself it is a good start, but I knew I wanted more. I signed on the dotted line, wrote that first rent check, and have never looked back. The first few years, I taught 6 days a week, ran the front office, did all the choreography for our competition teams and even cleaned the studios..I wore a lot of hats to say the least. BUT I had one goal in mind…expand Kaleidoscope Dance into the fastest growing dance studio on the north shore. I now have just over 7,000 square feet, 5 studios, 15 employees, a studio manager, 6 different competition teams, and we offer over 120 classes a week for dancers of all ages and abilities.

I often look back at where Kaleidoscope started and where we are today. I am really proud of what I have built. Kaleidoscope Dance is more than just a dance studio. It is a second home for our dancers. As soon as you walk through our front door, we want you to feel welcomed, cared for, and feel the passion we have for not only teaching dance, but helping you raise wholesome, confident young women and men. Thank you for your continued support and if you haven’t been in yet, we can’t wait to welcome you home!
